Some Creature Ball orders are randomly upgraded to a rare Shiny Variant before they ship. You will not be charged extra. You will not be asked. You will not know until you open the box.
The Odds
Every qualifying Creature Ball order has a 1 in 5 chance of being upgraded to a Shiny. That is a 20% pull rate, which is astronomically better than the games that inspired this — but the thrill of not knowing is exactly the same.
What Is a Shiny Variant?
Shiny Variants are alternate colorway versions of our Creature Balls, inspired by the rare alternate forms that collectors have chased for decades. Each one uses a unique color combination that you will not find in the standard lineup. They are printed in limited runs and are not available for direct purchase.
The only way to get one is to get lucky.
How It Works
- Place an order that includes a Creature Ball.
- We print your order.
- Before packing, your order is entered into the Shiny roll.
- If you hit, your standard Creature Ball is swapped for the Shiny Variant of that design.
- Your package ships. You find out when you open it.
A Few Things to Know
- Shiny upgrades are applied automatically. There is nothing to opt into.
- You will not be notified in advance. The surprise is the point.
- Shiny Variants cannot be requested or purchased separately.
- Odds apply per qualifying order, not per item.
- Not every Creature Ball design has a Shiny Variant available at all times. If your design does not have one in rotation, your order ships as normal.
